I spent a lot of my life chasing gold stars—thinking if I just achieved enough, I’d finally feel safe.
✅ Get the degree.
✅ Get the job.
✅ Get married. (Oops, maybe another marriage will fix it?)
✅ Get the promotion.
✅ Buy the fancy furniture I never sit on because I’m too busy working.
I was the responsible one before I even knew what that meant.
The overachiever.
The “figure-it-out girl.”
The one who could be counted on to make it happen, no matter the cost.
And for a long time, that worked.
I climbed the corporate ladder at warp speed—ran multi-million-dollar companies before I even fully believed I could do the same for myself.
I checked every damn box that should have made me feel safe, secure, and whole.
And yet…
In the quiet moments—the ones where no one was watching—I felt it.
That subtle ache. That whisper of "This isn’t it. Not all of it."
But I kept pushing through.
Because who was I if I wasn’t achieving something?
Then, life forced me to slow down.
